World In Focus – Capturing Travel Moments

As I began studying communication and media — and more specifically tourism communication — I started to see travel through a different lens. Destinations are not just places. They are narratives. They are shaped by tourism boards, by media, by platforms, and by the expectations we carry with us long before we arrive.

A personal reflection on animal tourism — why our love for animals sometimes turns into exploitation, and how sustainable travel choices can bring respect and freedom back into the picture.

I visited the World Press Photo Exhibition 2025 in October here in Budapest, and as always, it hit hard. Year after year, this exhibition captures the cruelness of existing wars — and this time, it felt even more raw, more unbearable. Faces of people who lost everything. Cities turned into dust. Children’s eyes staring straight into yours, silently asking: what are we doing to the world? I always miss something. The beauty in the world... it is also there...

Our first stop wasn’t the Duomo or the Galleria, but Parco Sempione, where Hana, our Shiba Inu, could finally stretch her legs after hours in the car. She ran, sniffed, and looked utterly pleased with life — the canine version of that first sip of coffee in the morning.
